Driving in Germany

Or riding a train, a bus, a tram, a bike....

MISTI Policy Statement on Driving

Undergraduate students are not permitted to drive motor vehicles (including but not limited to scooters, motorbikes, motorcycles and cars) while participating in a study abroad opportunity.  Graduate students are also strongly discouraged from driving while abroad.

With so many easy ways to get around in Germany, why spend time in traffic on the Autobahn?  Germany has a strong network of trains, trams, and busses (often offering student discounts) as well as updated cycling infrastructure across the country.  If you are looking for long-distance travel, private bus companies and ride-sharing platforms are also an option.
